Somalia embassy in South Africa supported by the community secure official embassy building in Pretoria

Pretoria, South Africa (Onkod Radio Online) Somalia embassy in South Africa supported by the local Somali community  secured a new embassy building for the first time in more than a decade, highlighting the ambassador’s endeavor and the community’s commitment to collectively buy the embassy building, officials said.

Ambassador Mohamed Sheikh Isaak confirmed the signing of the contract for the new embassy building, underscoring that this significant achievement is a testament to the strong partnership between the Federal Government of Somalia and the resilient Somali community in the southernmost tip of the continent, According to a statement released by the Somalia’s foreign ministry.

“in line with the directives of our national leaders, I have signed today official embassy building at the Somali Embassy in South Africa, which will be the first of its kind in 12 years since the Embassy opened in early 2013. “ Ambassador Mohamed Sheikh Issak, the Somali Ambassador in South Africa said, “ “The embassy has been bought by both the Somali government and the Somali community and will be paid on one year” Ambassador Mohamed Sheikh Issak said.

The Ambassador thanked the Somali president Hassan Sheikh Mohamed, Prime Minister Hamze Abdi Barre, Minister of foreign affairs, Amb. Ahmed Moalim Faqi, the embassy officials and the Somali community at large without which their support, nothing would have been possible.

The embassy services to the community has doubled ever since Ambassador Mohamed Sheikh Issak was appointed, improving the consular services by making it more transparency leading the community commiting to offer pay part of the payment as compliment.

This bold initiative strengthens Somalia’s global diplomatic presence and reaffirms its commitment to fostering meaningful international relations as the embassy is working toward enhancing the biletral relations between the two countries.

Ambassador Mohamed is also non-resident ambassador to seven other other countries in addition to South Africa. These include the republic of Angola and Mozambique which the ambassador presented his credentials. According to the Amb. Mohamed he plans to present his credentials to Namibia and Botswana and waits three others other countries to be appointed.

Separately,  two young and influential diplomats Cismad Yusuf Caynte as the first counselor at the Embassy ​​and Mohamed Bashir Sheikh Ali Cibaar as the embassy’s business Attaché joined the embassy ranks.
